Make a smilodon pop-up
Make this cool prehistoric beast come to life!
What you’ll need:
- Recycled card
- Ruler
- Paper clip
- Glue
How to do it...
1. Print out all the pieces you need to make the Smilodon, or draw them on card. Use a paper clip and ruler to score (mark) the dotted lines. Next, cut out the pieces and the base card along the solid black lines.
2. Fold the base card in half along the dotted line, towards you. Crease the fold well.
3. Take the eye section and fold along the centre line, away from you. Next, fold the smaller tabs towards you, and crease. Repeat for the nose and the mouth sections.
4. Put glue on the two white areas near the bottom of the base card. Now take the mouth piece and match the tabs to the white shapes. Make sure the centre lines match up. Press firmly and let the glue dry.
5. Put glue on the two top white areas of the base. Take the eye piece and match the ear tabs with the white areas. Make sure the centre lines match up. Press down firmly.
6. Put glue on the white shape on the right side of the eye piece. Take the nose piece and match the right tab with the white shape on the right. Press down. Repeat on the left side.
7. Once all the glue on the pop-up is totally dry, slowly shut the card and then open it. ROAAAR! It’s your very own Smilodon pop-up!
