Optical illusions!
Optical illusions are images that play tricks on the eye and brain. The eye tells the brain what it’s seeing, but sometimes the information gets muddled and the brain has trouble unscrambling the mess. And that can mean hours of fun! Here are some of our favourites to try at home or on your friends. Enjoy!

4) Do you notice anything strange about the
edges of this square?

5) Look at this image carefully.
Are the long lines parallel?

6) Stare at the dot in the centre of this pattern, then move
towards and away from the screen. What happens?

7) Take a look at this picture – do you see grey dots flashing
at you when you look at it?

8) Are the horizontal lines sloping in or
are they straight?
