Calling all Frozen fans! Did you know that there's a fab 'n' frosty new animated mini movie featuring Anna, Elsa, Olaf and the rest of the goofy gang? We catch up with the animation's Oscar-winning filmmakers to discover some fun facts about the ice-cool cartoon, Frozen Fever…
FACT ONE: IT TOOK SIX MONTHS TO CREATE THE CARTOON!
"We had a lot of fun creating the new animated short," explains director Chris Buck. "The movie took between three and four years to create, but Frozen Fever only took six months. It was great to return to Arendelle for a whole new adventure with the characters we love so much."
FACT TWO: THE MINI SNOWMEN IN THE SHORT HAVE A NAME!
Elsa has a sniffling cold in Frozen Fever, which causes tons of pesky problems. Every time the Snow Queen sneezes, a mini snowman is created! So what are the cute new characters called? "We've named them snowgies," reveals Chris Buck.
FACT THREE: THE MINI SNOWMEN WEREN'T ALWAYS IN THE STORY!
"Originally, we thought it would be fun if a bunch of mini Olafs were created every time Elsa sneezed," admits Chris Buck. "Olaf is very special and we wanted to keep him unique, so we ended up with the snowgies instead. They don't have arms and they don't really talk, but they are incredibly cute."
FACT FOUR: ALL OF THE VOICE ACTORS ARE BACK!
"We were really lucky that the original voice cast returned for our fun short," reveals Chris Buck. Idina Menzel is back as Elsa, Kristen Bell is Anna and Josh Gad is Olaf once again. Plus, Jonathan Groff returns as Kristoff and his reindeer pal, Sven!
FACT FIVE: THERE'S A DISNEY CHARACTER HIDDEN IN THE SHORT!
Sneaky animators have hidden some surprise Disney secrets into Frozen Fever. "There's a nod to a Disney character somewhere in the short, but you'll have to be eagle eyed to find it," admits Chris Buck. "Want a hint? This character is not from the Frozen world!"
Frozen Fever is being shown on the big screen before the live-action blockbuster Cinderella, which is released in cinemas 27 March.
