Meet Narnia's Lucy

NG Kids catches with 12-year-old Georgie Henley who plays Lucy, the youngest of the Pevensie children in the new Narnia film – Prince Caspian. She reveals all about the new film, extreme sports and falling off cliffs!

NG Kids: Hi Georgie! Can you tell us a bit about what happens in the new film?
Georgie: The new Narnia film is about a Telmarine called Prince Caspian who is suddenly thrown out of balance when he's told his uncle is out to kill him so he runs away. Then, 1,300 years later the Pevensies get called back to Narnia… You'll have to watch to find out what happens next!

NGK: Wow, that sounds exciting. You got to visit loads of different countries during filming. Which was your favourite?
GH: I absolutely loved New Zealand, it's so far away but the scenery and people made it an amazing experience. It's really beautiful.

NGK: Did you get up to anything adventurous while you were there?
GH: I didn't, but I know Will and Skandar who play Peter and Edmund did the second biggest bungee jump in the world! I did the Shotover Jet, which is a kind of really fast jet boat ride. That was quite adventurous and really good fun.

NGK: Which other countries did you go to?
GH: I went to the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Poland, plus New Zealand. And all the post production of Prince Caspian is in London, and I don't live in London, so that was nice as well.

NGK: Did you find it hard to be away from home for all that time?
GH: Yeah, it's always hard being away from your family and your friends - especially as I had just started as secondary school. When we were filming in Prague, the good thing was that you could come back if you had a break and your family could come out to visit you. My family came out twice, and they brought my friends which was really nice.

NGK: What do your friends think about being in these films? Are they quite jealous?
GH: Well I never know, the impression I get is that they're all happy for me. I've never detected any jealousy, because they're all my friends.
NGK: Are they excited about seeing the new film?
GH: Yeah, they're all really excited because they want to go to the cinema with me, so I think we are all going to go on a massive trip together. We will be the loudest and rowdiest in the cinema!

NGK: Do you have a lot of fun on set? Do you play tricks on each other?
GH: Yeah it's so fun, I'd like to say that it’s work all the time but it really isn't, it's fun. We always having a great time, it's like one big game.

NGK: Is there anyone you get on particularly well with?
GH: I can't really pick one person, but I do get along really well with all the Pevensie children. But I also get along really well with Prince Caspian who's played by Ben Barnes. He's a new character but we took him in and made him part of the family. So that’s really nice.

NGK: Are there any scenes which you are particularly excited about people seeing? That might be a surprise.
GH: Yes, there's a lot in store for everybody who goes to see it, there are a lot of surprises, a lot of twists and turns and there is a lot of action and suspense.

NGK: Was it scary filming the action scenes?
GH: Well, I was very excited because I've always loved doing that kind of stuff - I don't know why. I've always loved stunts and we have the best stunt team. It's quite scary doing a stunt for the first time but it becomes like clockwork after a while. You don’t really think about doing the stunt you just think about doing it well.

NGK: What was your favourite stunt in this film?
GH: When I fell off a cliff! I had to stand on a trap door and then it opens beneath me and it looks like I fall off the cliff. It was really scary because we were actually on top of a 40m gorge and I actually did almost have to fall off! I was on a wire and everything but it was so scary!

NGK: Are there going to be more Narnia films after this one?
GH: There's talk of a third instalment to the Narnia series, but it's still all talk. I'd be very happy to do a third film!

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian is out on 26 June
