National Geographic Kids sets new Guinness World Record for jumping jacks!

On Tuesday 11 October from the lawns of the White House in Washington, USA, to the playgrounds of schools all over the British Isles, National Geographic Kids and its readers set its fifth Guinness World Record.
We did it, gang!

Together with National Geographic Kids USA, and the president’s wife Michelle Obama, we broke the world record for the most people doing jumping jacks in a 24-hour period. The record now stands at 300,265 — way more than the previous record of 20,425. Woo!
To kick off the challenge, the first lady, Michelle Obama and National Geographic Kids led an event with 464 children on the 11 October at 3pm on the White House lawn, where they did one minute of continuous jumping jacks. As the first lady launched the attempt, others around the world, and lots of National Geographic Kids readers here in the British isles joined one of many sponsored events and organised their own by following the Guinness World Records rules which we announced here.
And then over the next 24 hours, you guys jumped your way victory and helped us break this amazing record! Did you manage to get your jumps in? Check out this brilliant video below showing some of the people from all over the world who helped us become record-breakers...
