Live 'n' Deadly Naomi Wilkinson interview!

Crammed full of challenges, dares, animals and adventure, tune in on Saturday mornings from 9:00 to 10:00am on BBC 2 to check out which city the gang will be in next, and what new deadly animals they’ll be meeting!
We caught up with Live ‘n’ Deadly host Naomi Wilkinson to chat about the new show and to find out what has been the most deadliest of her encounters so far...

NG Kids Hi Naomi! Can you tell us a little bit about the new series of Live 'n' Deadly?
Naomi Wilkinson It's going to be even bigger and even better than last year. Our exciting new series will be jam packed with fantastic and rather unpredictable deadly creatures; adventurous activities; celebrity guests and loads of ways to get involved. Steve and I have also been set some extreme, deadly challenges!
NG Kids Ha ha, cool! What deadly creatures can we expect to see in this new series?
Naomi I don't really want to give anything away and spoil the surprises, but I know for certain that we will be coming face to face with some awesome wildlife and that I will be challenged to face some of my biggest fears. Rest assured we will wow you with a vast array of wonderful animals!
NG Kids What's the scariest creature you have encountered?
Naomi There have been quite a few! I think the worst that I had to hold was either the whip spider or the tarantula. However, I would say the scariest creature we had on the show last year was the rattle snake. Steve demonstrated the snake striking on live television, which we think was a first here in the UK and it was incredibly impressive to see, but a bite from this snake would be extremely serious so that got our adrenaline pumping! Safe to say we had plenty of safety measures in place throughout the programme.
NG Kids What's your favourite animal?
Naomi Dogs. Dogs are brilliantly loyal and seem to have a boundless enthusiasm for life. I saw quite a lot on the beach last week in Devon and they were going nuts and having the time of their lives splashing in the waves and digging up the sand!

NG Kids What's it like working with Steve?
Naomi I love working with Steve! He is this fountain of endless knowledge about the natural world and I learn new things from him every time I'm with him. There aren't many people that you can say that about. We like to have fun though, and he's often playing tricks on me, so I've got some 'fun' things in store for him this series... Mwah ha ha ha!
NG Kids Ha ha! We can’t wait! When you're not chasing deadly creatures, what else do you like to do?
Naomi Dance is a huge passion of mine. I am an avid tap dancer, I teach it sometimes. Whenever I get a chance to go to the seaside I go surfing. I really enjoy going to the theatre or the cinema and I watch too much telly!
NG Kids Have you got any secret talents?
Naomi I can solve the Rubik's cube!
NG Kids Can you tell us a secret about Steve?
Naomi I know lots, but they're all secrets so I can't tell you them. Tee-hee!
NG Kids Have you got any tips for people wanting to get into TV presenting but are not sure where to begin?
Naomi Get busy practising on your home video camera if you have one. Ask anyone who is willing to film you and pretend you are presenting the type of show you enjoy watching. The more comfortable you get in front of a camera the better. Once you have some good footage together you can create your own showreel!
NG Kids What's the best thing about working on Live'n'Deadly?
Naomi There are so many things. Live TV is very exciting, even more so when you are working with unpredictable animals. I love meeting the viewers, seeing and hearing how they have been inspired to get outdoors to start looking for wildlife themselves. Last year we heard about a girl who had seen our scuba diving film and she then immediately enrolled on a course and got herself a PADI certificate. That made us all so happy. And of course, I am having the most fabulous animal encounters and adventures of my own as a result of presenting this show. Just wait until you see what the Live 'n' Deadly team have got me doing this time around!
